Meet our network growth analyst Paul Cinelli
We talked to Paul Cinelli, one of our network growth analysts, about his experience at AllWays Health Partners as a part of the Network Management Team and as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion staff facilitator.
We at AllWays Health Partners value our providers and aim to make your experience with us great. That's why we make our onboarding process simple and efficient, with resources available every step of the way. Our team of network growth analysts connect with providers to support them through the recruitment process. In addition to answering questions about AllWays Health Partners, our network growth analysts strive for provider satisfaction, finding ways to accommodate them into our network.
We asked Paul to tell us more about his role and how he helps make it easy for providers to join our network and reach more patients.
What’s your typical day at work like?
I spend much of my day connecting with providers via phone and email. I recruit and guide them along the contracting process, which includes initial introduction, answering contracting related questions, providing fee schedules, providing network/membership data, and follow ups. If there’s a provider we’re recruiting who hasn’t responded to us, I’ll reach out to them to find out what they need to be able to join our network.
I had different roles at AllWays Health Partners until August 2018, when I transitioned into the provider recruitment role that I am in today. We were in the midst of transitioning to a completely new behavior health network and there was a large network gap. Initially, I was calling upwards of 30 behavioral health providers a day and relaying this information to Optum to send a paper contract. Over all, I probably spoke to over 1,500 providers over the phone during this time, while still managing provider relations with network providers. When speaking to providers, I looked for ways to accommodate them and encourage them to join our network. In a record 8 months, we added over 2,000 new providers.
What brought you to AllWays Health Partners? What do you like about working here?
I was referred to AllWays Health Partners by another employee after spending some time working in the fitness field and gaining an interest in health care. I started in the call center, and I quickly found a great sense of community among my coworkers. I was able to grow professionally very quickly: In four short years, I have had four different titles and four different promotions, but I gravitated to provider services early on. Customer service has always been important to me, and I’m happy to be bringing it to our providers.
How has your experience been as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion staff facilitator?
When the opportunity to be a DE&I staff facilitator presented itself to me, I was immediately interested. Being a DE&I staff facilitator has provided me the opportunity to step back and look at myself through a different lens. This workshop has made me question why I make some of the decisions that I do. I was able to uncover some of the biases shaped from my upbringing and challenge the status quo. It is also an amazing feeling to spark the conversation and see others continue it. You can feel the energy in the room when coworkers share their personal experiences. I think this workshop will help AllWays Health Partners continue to be a diverse, inclusive environment.
