On October 26, it's going to get even easier for network providers to request prior authorization for outpatient services. Based on your feedback, we're reducing your administrative burden and helping you quickly connect patients with necessary care. Read on to learn more about the changes and to sign up for one of our live webinars.
In a recent survey in our online community, Provider Roundtable, 92% of respondents indicated that they considered “ease of doing business” an important factor in choosing to work with a new health plan. Several survey participants called out the authorization process specifically as a common pain point. That’s why we’re excited to roll out new prior authorization tools on October 26 and offer network providers an easier, more streamlined experience.
Enhanced prior authorization tools
The improvements to our prior authorization tools are all part of our Roadmap 2020 enhancements . You have more on your mind than administrative processes — especially at this time — so we’ve worked reduce the burden on your practice. Here’s what’s coming October 26:
- Fast approvals. Certain outpatient services will receive approvals in seconds.
- Approvals at any time. Get approvals 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Seamless process. Request authorization and enter medical necessity information on the same screen to save time.
All these enhancements are designed to make the authorization process faster, so you can discuss next steps with your patients before they even leave your office.
We’ll also be launching a code checker tool so you can search by code to see authorization requirements instantly. By having easy access to the latest requirements, this will reduce the number of unnecessary requests and save you time.
