UPDATE: Universal provider directory tool
HealthCare Administrative Solutions, Inc. (HCAS) is a non-profit organization founded by several Massachusetts health plans, including AllWays Health Partners. Our goal is to simplify certain administrative tasks, and our first major initiative is a universal provider directory tool.
About the universal provider directory tool
Provider directories and provider profiles are some of the most heavily trafficked pages on any health-care website. Keeping the information up-to-date, however, can be a real burden for providers and health plans alike.
The HCAS universal provider directory tool will take the redundancy out of updating your information. It will act as a centralized place to review and change your:
- Provider office locations, addresses, and phone numbers
- Institutional affiliations
- Specialty
- Open or closed panel status
- Languages spoken
- Accommodations for disabilities
- Accessibility information for each practice location
- Confirmation of completion of cultural competency training
- Behavioral health clinical areas of interest
It's important to note that you'll still need to provider contract information directly to each health plan.
Easy to use from day one
After a nationwide search, HCAS selected CAQH for the directory tool. You're probably already familiar with the CAQH credentialing tool, ProView. In fact, that's one of the reasons we chose CAQH. Updating your directory information in the tool will be similar to credentialing through ProView.
More information is on the way
We'll be launching the new universal provider directory tool some time this fall. As we get closer to the roll out, HCAS or the participating plans will be in touch with more information. In the meantime, you can read an FAQ and an archive of monthly updates on the HCAS directory web page.
